Privacy and data processing
This policy explains how AutoMotorShop processes the personal data required to operate the platform. By registering, publishing, inquiring about listings or using payment features on the site, you accept the practices described here and in the Terms and conditions.
Data controller
The data controller is AutoMotorShop, operator of the automotorshop.com.co platform. While corporate formalization is completed, personal data requests are handled at administradores@automotorshop.com.co and phone 301-120-39-39. Once the company is legally registered, this section will be updated with legal name, tax ID and address.
Data we may collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process: identification and contact data (name, email, WhatsApp, company); profile data (country, state, city, date of birth, gender, profile photo); access credentials (password stored in encrypted form); listing data (text, photos, prices, listing location, category and item details); messages and inquiries between users or from guests without an account (name, phone/WhatsApp, message content); reports and reviews; payment references for platform services (amount, status, transaction identifiers); and technical data (IP address, detected country, registration and login dates, browser and security logs). We do not store full bank details or card information.
Additional profile data
Date of birth and gender are requested to complete the profile and improve community trust. They are used only for platform operational purposes, not for discriminatory purposes. You may update them from your dashboard when the feature is available.
Data visible to other users
When you publish a listing, part of your information becomes visible to visitors and potential buyers: name or business name, WhatsApp, listing location, photos, description and price. If a buyer sends you an inquiry, you will see their contact details to respond. AutoMotorShop does not control what users do with that information off the site, so we recommend sharing only what is necessary.
Authorization and legal basis
Processing of your data is based on the authorization you grant when registering, publishing, sending inquiries or purchasing promotion services; on performance of the relationship with the platform; and, in specific cases, on AutoMotorShop's legitimate interest to ensure security, prevent fraud, moderate content and improve the service.
Processing purposes
We use information to: create and manage accounts; verify emails; publish and moderate listings; facilitate contact between buyers and sellers; process featured and boost payments; send operational notifications; provide support and handle claims; prevent abuse and fraud; generate internal statistics; measure and optimize Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ad campaigns when the Meta Pixel is active; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Processors and third parties
We may share data with providers that help us operate the service, such as payment gateways (e.g. Wompi), email services, hosting, technical infrastructure and, when configured, Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) through the Meta Pixel for ad measurement, audiences and remarketing. These third parties process information under their own policies and only to the extent necessary to provide the contracted service. Card payment data is processed directly by the gateway; AutoMotorShop does not receive or store the full card number.
Platform payments
Promotion payments (featured or boost) are made through authorized providers. AutoMotorShop only keeps operational references: transaction identifiers, amounts, currency, payment status and dates, for support, reconciliation and possible claims related to failed payments or disputes over services purchased on the site.
International transfer
Some technology, payment or advertising providers (for example Meta) may process data on servers located outside Colombia. In those cases, we seek reasonable protection measures and limit processing to what is necessary to operate the platform and campaigns.
Cookies, session and preferences
We use cookies and local storage needed to keep you logged in, remember preferences such as language and country, protect forms against abuse and allow basic site operation. When the Meta Pixel is active, Meta may also set its own cookies or identifiers to measure visits, conversions and optimize ads on Facebook and Instagram. You can delete cookies from your browser; some features (such as staying logged in) may stop working correctly, and blocking advertising cookies may reduce campaign measurement accuracy.
Retention period
We retain data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Expired listings may be kept for a limited time for history and moderation. Payment references are kept for a reasonable time for support, claims and accounting or legal obligations. Security logs and reports are kept for periods proportionate to fraud prevention. When you delete your account or request erasure, we will delete or anonymize data we are not required to keep by law or for transaction evidence.
Data subject rights (ARCO)
As a data subject you have the right to know, update, rectify and delete your information, as well as to revoke authorization and file complaints about processing. To exercise these rights, write to administradores@automotorshop.com.co with your name, registered email and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within ten (10) business days. If you do not receive a satisfactory response, you may file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia.
Minors
AutoMotorShop is intended for people over 18. We do not intentionally collect data from minors. If we detect a minor's account, we may delete it and remove associated information.
Account deletion
You may request deactivation or deletion of your account from the dashboard or by writing to the contact email. Upon deletion, your listings are removed or deactivated and profile data that need not be retained is deleted. We may keep payment references, moderation records or minimal information required by law or to resolve pending disputes.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, such as encrypted connection (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted access to the admin panel and review of security reports. No system is 100% infallible; we recommend using unique passwords and not sharing your credentials.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or regulations. The date of the latest version will be shown at the top of the document. Continued use of the site after changes are published implies acceptance of the updated policy.
